Show CELEBRATE THEIR OTH WEDDING A X X I V E USA U Y A beautiful and unique wedding celebration was held Tuesday afternoon after-noon in honor of two of Mt. Pleas-ant's Pleas-ant's pioneers, Mr. and .Mrs. John Knudson, Sr., the occasion being the sixtyth anniversary of their wedding which was solemnized In Vejle, Denmark, Den-mark, August 21, 1857. The celebration celebra-tion was held at the home of their son, Andrew Knudson and was attended at-tended by more than forty of their close relatives and friends, who presented pre-sented them with a beautiful leather rocking chair. A musical program was rendered by the Misses Arcllee Harnett and Thoo Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. Knudson are both past their eighty-eighth birthday but are well and hearty and in full possession pos-session of all their faculties. They came to Mount Pleasant In 1864 and suffered all the hardships incident to early pioneer life. They are the parents par-ents of five children, only two sons, John and Andrew Knudsen are now living. One baby daughter, Hannah, died and was buried while on the Atlantic Ocean. Another daughter, Marie, died in Mount Pleasant at the age of fifteen and their youngest daughter, Mrs. Magnus G. Rolph, died twenty-five years ago, leaving three little daughter's to whom Mr. i.i'd Mrs. Knudson weu parents and ni'sed to womanhood. Mr. Knudson st 11 takes an active interest in all civic and religious matters. The many friends of Mr. and Ms. Knudson Knud-son wish for them many more years of good health and prosperity. |
