Before she has been indoors very long she hurries out to the very edge of the water and goes traipsing through tbe sand with never a thought of her director, the villain in the cast, the wife she intends wronging wrong-ing or the wealthy old fellow who is destined to lose his bankroll. During the filming of the William iox photodramar "East Lynne," when kiss Bara left her hotel at Long Beach she was immediately recognized, rec-ognized, as she invariably is when she goes out in public, and camera jnd snapshot fiends pursued her for mdfe than a mile over the beach. When she finally reached the hotel she had lost one slipper, the remaining remain-ing one was full of sand, her unprotected unpro-tected foot had been cut by sand- ' spurs and not les than a score of snapshot finds had pictures of a vampire vam-pire on the run and without composure com-posure things they never think of doing in the "movies."
