Producing figures showing that the first year of the war for' fhe United States will cost more than three years for any other ally, Chairman Fitzgerald of the house appropriations ap-propriations committee on Friday opened debate on a new and much enlarged en-larged urgent deficiencies bill. The revised measure carries appropriations appro-priations and authorizations amounting to $7,753,526,000. "The estimates submitted for the consideration of the congress aggregated aggre-gated $5,615,455,000," said Fitzgerald. He summed up appropriations, showing show-ing that to date congress has appropriated appro-priated $9,134,453,027, with pending measures calling for $9,164,210,435, bringing the year's total, estimated, up to $1S,2S8,643,432. In addition, authorizations au-thorizations of expenditures for the fiscal year amount to $2,363,057,282, making a grand total of $20,651,700,-734.33. $20,651,700,-734.33. Fitzgerald then pointed out the year's revenue source as follows: From ordinary sources, $1,333,000,000; pending revenue bill, $2,400,000,000; postal revenues. $334,000,000; bond issues is-sues (net proceeds), $11,538,945,460.
