Show SPRING CITY BANQUET GIVEN IN HONOR OK REPRESENT ATI E JACOB JA-COB JOHNSON A banquet was given Saturday evening ev-ening at the Allred Hotel in honor of Representative Jacob Johnson who returned a few days ago from Washington, Wash-ington, D. C, where he spent the two previous years. Dinner was served at 7 p. m. to about twenty-five of the leading citizens cit-izens of Spring City. The tables which held the sumptuous feast were beautifully beau-tifully decorated with flowers. James W. Blain acieu as toast-master. Mr. Johnson was the first to respond. re-spond. eXDressiner his errnt.itudn for the splendid banquet which had been prepared in his honor and told some of his experiences the past two years as a member of the House of Representatives. Repre-sentatives. Bishop Samuel .Allred, S. T. Beck, J. F. Allred, John S. Blain, William Watson, James Claw-son Claw-son and James W. Blain responded to the call of the toast-master. They told of their years of acquaintance with Mr. Johnson as a neighbor and fellow citizen and spoke in the highest high-est terms of his sterling qualities and of the high position he has held with great satisfaction to all' concerned. After dinner the guests retired to the reception room of the hotel where the remainder of the evening was spent in social conversation. The following gentlemen were present, pres-ent, Hon. Jacob Johnson, Bishop Samuel Allred, J. F. Allred, J. F. Jus-tesen, Jus-tesen, S. T. Beck, Hans Neilson, Arthur Ar-thur Johnson, Andrew Madsen, J. A. Justesen, J. M. Aldrich, James Claw-son, Claw-son, Eugene Allred, J. S. Blain, J. P. Johnson, W. E. Watson, .Imes W. Blain, H. L. Acord, C. M. Peterson, Chris Thompson, N. N. Dahl, J. G. Schofield, William Osborne, John T. Blain and J. M. Johnson. Eaco Carlson and E. Simpson departed de-parted for Salt Lake Thursday of last week. F. Acord of Emery County who has been visiting with Mr. and Mrs. C. II. Strate returned to his home Friday. Iver Peterson was a business visitor vis-itor inSalt Lake the latter part of the week. Adolph Anderson left for Murray thsi week where he has secured employment. em-ployment. Bishop W. M. Allred and baby of Chester who have been sick for some time are reported to be improving. It is rumored that Wales is to have an election early in June to ascertain ascer-tain how the people there stand on the liquor question. Now is the time to clean up your lots and yards. All rubish should be hauled away or burned there is only one excuse for filth indolence. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Swalsberg and daughters from Salt Lake City arrived here Wednesday to attend the funeral of Mr. Swalberg's daughter Ruby who died very suddenly Tuesday Tues-day morning. Ruby Swalsberg died Tuesday morning at his mother's home in this City, the boy had not. been feeling well for some time but was not considered con-sidered in any clanger from his illness. ill-ness. The cause of his death could not be learned at this writing. Funeral Fun-eral services were held Friday at 1 p. m. Interment was made in the Spring City Cemetery. The Mutual Improvement Associations Associa-tions have engaged the Hallowell Concert Co. to give a concert in tho Opera House, Saturday evening, Mar. 27th. The personell of this company are musicians from the Chicago and the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestras Orches-tras insuring a most excellent company. com-pany. The good people of Spring City should turn out in mass to this concert and provo to the Mutuals that they appreciate their offorts to improve im-prove the class of amusements.
