Show President Wilson has bign-d the bill that pro'-ides fur the issue of postal money orders payable at any money order office, even though originally drawn on a particular oil'ue. The ne' law will go into effect as soon as the I'o-t Oflice Department De-partment can prepare the proper prop-er rules. The Postmaster-General says t'iat the new plan will help business, for it will endow the postal money order with the virtues and convenience of a bank draft. It will also greatly increase the volume of the postal pos-tal money order business, which has always been a source of profit pro-fit to the Post office Dapart-ment. Dapart-ment. During the last fiscal year the post offices of this country issued ninty-one million domestic money orders. The net income from their sale was more than five million dollars. |
