Show VAStliNGTON'S BIRTHDAY IS OBRERVED BY MOUNT PLEASANT COMMERCIAL CLUL in Elaborate Dancing Party, Luncheon and Program Given by the Club. Distinguished Visitors from Salt Lake City in Attendance. The Mt. Pleasant Commercial Hub gave a dancing party, rogram and a very fine lun-heon lun-heon last Saturday evening, 'ebruary 22nd, in honor of the nniversary of George Wash-lgton. Wash-lgton. Tne dance was given t the Opera House at which lany old time dances were iven for the pleasure of the der people who were in at-jftance. at-jftance. The luncheon was irvd at the club rooms while umerous musical selections rere given. During the course of the luncheon iven at the club rooms a musical program was rendered by those who had been selected for the occassion. Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Purrington sang comic songs, Mis. J. D. Simpson plaved a violin solo, Tressa Larsen and Harry Ericksen sang a duet, Fred C. Graham of Salt Lake City sang a number of tenor solos, and J H. Stockman gave a short talk on commercial activities of the day. The dancing party was an all round splendid social success. An unusually large crowd was present to enjoy themselves in the ev ning's pleasures. It wai the greatest social so-cial event held in Mount Pleasant for some time. It being the anniversary anniver-sary of the birth of the "Father of His Country" brought many out to the entertainment who would otherwise other-wise have stayed at home. j |
