Show Wasatch Literary Contest The Literary Contest of Wasatch Academy was held Monday evening at the Opera House. There were nine enteries made for the content. Five entered for the declamation contest, two for the essay and two in the oratoaical contest. Each one entered the race with the determination determin-ation of winning. Grandvill Freston was successful in winning first prize in the oratorical oratori-cal contest. He took for his subject the problem of immigration. Clinton Clin-ton Webb wa; second. The first prize for essay was given to Olive Mathews, who took for her subject Curiosities and Beauties of Utah. Bernice Bradley won second. Kenneth Bradley won first prize in Declamation contest. He took for his subject the Ben Hur Chariot Race. Miss Edith Shew won second. The prizes were awarded by Mr. F. C. Jensen, who has for years been responsible for these contests given by the school. |
