Show N. S. H. Begins ;Sixth Anniversary The North Sanpete High School startes out on the sixth year of its career under the most promising conditions. The student body was larger at opening of school than any previous years. The faculty is notable for its experience, ex-perience, zeal and strength and for its determination to raise the already splendid standard of the school. New opportunities are offered. Anyone not a regular student may take up either Domestic Science, Domestic Do-mestic Art or both, and any student who has not graduated and would like to enter high school will be admitted ad-mitted if he is able to do the work. The school spirit is commendable. Special attention will be given to disipline and every effort put forth to have the moral atmosphere and tone of the school on the highest order. ' The Seniors met Monday Sept. 22, and organized their class for the comming school year. The officers elected were: Lyman Seely, President, Presi-dent, lone McArthur Vice-president Ferald Larsen Sec. and Treasurer, mostly of voices new to singing the grade of music used in the school, but they are showing much im provement and the outlook for a high class organization is'good. The High school band and orches tra are in their infant stages, as all the members are new, but by the sounds that comes from the music room every day, it is expected expect-ed to hear some musical from them soon. Classes in Domestic Art and Science are now organized ' into working order. The course given which is practical in all respects, cover two years of work. The first year class has, already had a- lesson in bottling fruit. The second year girls are now planning menus and in a short time will begin a series of breakfasts cooked and served by the clas members. Friday, Oct. 3rd. a doughnut sale will be held by the Domestic Science department. Everyone is invited to share the good things and help the girls in their work. Mr. Jensen reports that the girls are already over being afraid of dissecting dis-secting grass-hoppers. . Two hnndred new species of animal an-imal life are now available for use in the Zoological department. This laboratory promises to be in- exceeding ex-ceeding popular part of the school. Tuesday found coach Wangsgaard in the practice field with his football material for the coming season. Many of the men are beginners and much work must be done before any match games can be -played. The first simi-monthly student body meeting will be held Friday, Sept. 26th. |
