Anthon Gunderson returned from Price last Friday wliere he has been visiting with his brothers Carlos and Jonn Gunderson for about two weeks. He was very much impressed with the place over there and thinks there is a great future for it. John Gunderson came irom Price last Friday to make a short visit with his family and friends. Anderson Ander-son is here visiting at their home this week. Mis. Royal Peterson of Ephraim is here visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Monsen. A note from Miss Mable Borg, who is in New York for the winter studying piano, to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jas Borg of this city, brings information that the yoanjd lady has been selected by her teacher, teach-er, Mr. Sigismond Stejsowski, as one of ten students who are to appear in a recital to be given by him next week. Mr. Stejewski is probably the most noted piano teacher in America and has several hundred pupils from all stales of the Uniun '.aking iessons from him. The fact that he has chosen Miss Borg from there as one of ten to appear in recital re-cital is a testimony ofunsual importance im-portance of the ability the young lady has attained in her chosen pro-fission. pro-fission. The recital is to be given in one of the most prominent halls of the c.ty, and will be attended by manv of the mosteminae musicians of of the place. The honor conferred upon Miss Borg is one of importance and her many friends in this city, a distinction which is undoubtedly merited. Miss Borg is to spend the summer in Pleasant. John P. Peterson of this city went to Price the first of the week expecting ex-pecting to locate there and establish himself in the tailoring business at that place. His son will remain here and still continue in the same line of work. Burt Wright went to Price on busi ness atid will be gone a week or more. Mr. and Mrs, Roy Forcrr.sn are in this city visiting with friends and relatives. Npils Larson and Axel Waldemer I returned Saturday from Salt Lake i where they have been attending Grand Lodge during the past week. Louis Woodring is home again He has been in Emery County for about eight months. Hazel Hansen and May Carlson went to Ephraim Saturday to enjoyr a short visit. L. C. Rasmussen lost one of his horses Sunday. It died from the effects of the accident which it en-! en-! countered by the runaway team of 1 Ephraim Davidson which ran dow-n I Main Street Thursday. It was one ; of the best work animals in this ci'y j and valued at $300. ; David Hutchinson of this city has disposed of his home and part of his belongings and will move to a place i near Provo where he intends to feed j lambs for market. Mrs. Plutchinson i left Saturday for American Fork to visit her relatives, and intends to s 3end the summer there. ! Orange Aldrich who has been employed em-ployed by the Progress Mercantile Cj. for many years decided that he wanted to get out in the open air a little more and has accepted a position posit-ion with the Consolidated Wagon & Machine Co. Mirlan Anderson has been employ-1 ed by the Pro ress Mercantile Co. which position he has had a number of years ago. The Utah veterans of the Black hawk war of 1865 , will hold their annual reunion at Sprit.gville August 23-26. |
