Show A COMPARISON In comparing the price of the sub-Bf:r:;ii sub-Bf:r:;ii ion to the Pyramid today and the prevailing high prices of all other oth-er things, the Pyramid desires to call attention to a few of the following fae.s: i In 1012 when the Pyramid came under the present management, it took C pounds of butter to pay for a year's subscription, and it now takes 4 pounds; it then took 10 dozens of eggs and it now takes only 4 dozens; it then took six bushels of potatoes and it now takes only one bushel; it then took a little more than tio bushels of whc.it and it now takes a very little more than one bushel. The Pyramid also cost then about twice as many chickens, twice as much pork, and twice as much beef. As compared with then, the Pyramid costs the farmer almost NOTHING. On the other hand, the price of the paper the Pyramid was printed on was $48 per ton, and it now -costs $120 and $14 0 per ton. Do you wonder won-der the publisher is getting greyheaded? grey-headed? And, say, you farmers, how much is there left of that old story about you not being able to take the paper? |
