Maiben of Provo is visiting with her mother, Mrs. James Wilson in this city. Sidney Gee of Salt Lake City is visiting friends in Mt. Pleasant. He is guest of Miss Afton Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. George Brand and family left Mount Pleasant last Tuesday Tues-day to go to San Diego, California where they expect to make their future home. Mr. Brand is a well respected citizen and has been one of Mt Pleasant's leading mechanics for many years. Mrs. Wales Thomas of Wales was operated upon at the Winters hospital hos-pital for obstruction of the bowels last Thursday. The case was a critical cri-tical one and Mrs. Thomas passed away on Friday morning. Dr. Wm. P. Winters had a spec'al call to Ephraim last Monday to ad vise what should be done for J. C. Christensen of Dover, who was suffering suf-fering with a bad leg. The case was a serious one. Mr. Christensen was driving a wagon loaded with grain May 31st and his team was frightened fright-ened by an automobile which caused them to run. Mr. Christensen was thrown from the wagon and run over. On Monday it was necessary to amputate the leg. The operation was performed at Ephraim on Tuesday Tues-day the 10th by Dr. Wm. P. Winters of Mount Pleasant, Dr. Lafayette Reese of Ephraim and Dr. Ralph Richards of Salt Lake City. Word was received here in the evening that the patient passed to his final resting place. Mrs. Maggie Lowry came up from her home in Manti Tuesday and is guest at the home of Amasa Erick-sen. Erick-sen. Chas. Averett and family of Clear Creek have returned to Mount Pleasant Pleas-ant to visit for a short time. Mathew Bower, Forest Ranger who rides the range between Mil-burn Mil-burn and Spanish Fork canyon, reports re-ports that his district is in an excellent excel-lent condition this season. The sheep are doing very well in that section according to his report. Mrs. C. H. Eatinger is spending the week at Manti, visiting at the home of her sister, Mrs. M. A. Boy-den. Boy-den. Miss Mable Borg returned home last Saturday from New York, where she has been studying music during the past winter. Mrs. Georgia Johnson is home from the University where she has been attending school during the past year. Wilford Winkler has returned home from Germany where he has successfully filled a mission for the Latter Day Saints church. Alvin Jensen is home from Wyoming Wyom-ing where he has been! for several weeks. He arrived here last Tuesday. Mrs. Dr. D. D. Tebbs, who has been confined to her bed for several months past, with a serious attack of rheumatism, is now reported convalescent. Shoes that are guaranted to please at the Progress. Mrs. P. H. Cambron, who has been suffering with a prolonged illness, is reported on the mend. Sylvenus, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Seely, is reported critically ill. Mrs. Nicholin Jensen and daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Robert Weesch, returned last Sunday from Salt Lake where they had spent several days. Mrs. Hans Poulsen returned the fore part of the week from Ephraim where she has been for several weeks, nursing her daugher, Mrs. Manuel Anden.on and fine baby boy. Mrs. Dorothy Swensen went to Price last Saturday to visit with Mr. and Mrs. George Ryland and family. Mrs. Katie Swinard of Brigham, is guest at the home of her grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. Annie Wallace. See the Progress for Dress Goods. They have a big lot. Little Ruth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wall, had the misfortune misfor-tune last Saturday evening, while playing with her little brother, driving driv-ing nails through a board, by accidentally acci-dentally getting her hand under the board and driving a nail right through her little finger. She was immediately taken to a doctor where the nail was removed and is getting-along getting-along nicely. Mrs. E. Lamont was a business visitor in Salt Lake City last week. |
