Show FAIUYIKW Mrs. Rebecca Tucker of Richflcld visited relatives here the past week. Mrs. G. E. Garn of Salt Lake City-was City-was a Fairvlew visitor Saturday and Sunday. The stork called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Peterson this week and left them a fine baby girl. Mrs. H. W. Sanderson is spending the month at Salt Lake City with her daughter, Mrs. A. A. Johnson. Mrs. Annie Vanoy and Mrs. Emma Kerrick have returned to Salt Lake City after a visit with relatives. Mrs. Hettie Helm, who spent the past week at Fairview, returned to her home at Fillmore. ' Lavern Miner left Fairview December Decem-ber 12 to go to New Zealand on a I mission for the L. D. S. church. j I A dancing party wa3 given at thn Pavilion December 8 in honor of Lavern La-vern Miner. It was well attended and h pleasant social evening was enjoyed. en-joyed. Mrs. Fred Olsen entertained the ! Social club We luesday evening. A dainty luncheon was served to eleven young married ladies. They expect to organize and receive a new name soon. Mr. and Mra. Eli A. Day, Jr., went to Salt Lake Friday. Mrs. Day un-lerwent un-lerwent an operation at the L. D. S. hospital Saturday, December 9. She is reported to be improving nicely at present. Henry Terry and MiBS Edna Merlin Christiansen were married in the Manti Temple December 15. Mr. Terry is a talented musician and is at present leader of the Fairview choir and the Boys' Brass band. The pupils of the Junior High School had some sport Thursday, giving giv-ing their teacher, Henry Terry, a rice shower. Henry says he has danced in the hog trough twice this fall and he don't want the experience again. , Miss Euphemia Anderson, who has spent the lat twenty months on a mission in the Northern States, returned re-turned home this week. The choir gave her a welcome home party Wednesday evening. An informal program was rendered. Refreshments Refresh-ments were served. The Ladies Literary club met at the home of Mrs. Chas. Peacock December De-cember 8. "Christmas Dinner and Recipes" was given by Mrs. S. O. Nielson. "Christmas for the Chil-: dren" was given by Mrs. Fred Daniel, .on. One application for membership member-ship was received. Dainty refresh-! ments were served to twelve ladies. I i The social event of the week was' E. party given by the Unity girls in j honor of Lavern Miner Saturday evening. It was held in the upper! looms of the school building. The! time was spent in games, muBic and dancing. A delicious luncheon was ;erved. E. Tarn, Mr. Bird and Mrs. Hurst of salt Lake City. Funeral Services For George Tucker. The funeral services of George Pucker were held in the L. D. S. hapel December 8. James Anderson, Ander-son, Sr., Swen O. Nielson, Christian Peterson, Martin Allred, Lewis R. larsen and Bishop Hansen were the peakers. All paid tributes of reject re-ject to his memory. Music was "'jrnished by the ward choir and a 'net was given by Rowena Day and Mamie Madsen. Six of Mr. Tucker's ons acted ns pallbearers. There ere many beautiful flowers. The uneral was well attended. Mr. Tucker was an early pioneer in Sanpete San-pete valley and suffered all the hard- thips of pioneer life. He was a black hawk war veteran, was an active worker all his life until the past month. He was in his eightieth year and leaves his wife, Mary C. Tucker, six sons and four daughters, t" mourn his loss. Two wives and a number of children have preceded him to the grave. Those who came from out of town to attend the fu.i-rral fu.i-rral were Mrs. Rheuben Reese and daughter of Ogden, Mrs. Annie Vanoy Van-oy and Mrs. Emma Herrick of Salt Lake, Mrs. Hett'e Helm of Fillmore Mr. and Mrs. Traverse Tucker of Roosevelt. Orson Tueker. Chirler Tucker of Ogden. Mrs. Rebecca Turk-er Turk-er of Richfield and Charles Tucker of Idaho. |
