Til in LociS OouGUS Local Democrats met in (he first political meeting of the 1914 campaign cam-paign at the City Hall Monday evening, even-ing, the number in al tendance being somewhat larger than is usually the case at such gatherings. The purpose pur-pose of the meeting was the election j i dele'gaies to attend the slate Convention Con-vention in Salt Lake yesterday. Mt. Pleai-ant was entitled to live elclu-gates, elclu-gates, but it was decided to send ten, allowing eaeh a half vot". The following fol-lowing were chosen: L. P. Nelsen, Geo. Christense'ii. Parley Hansen, II. LoKoy Nielsen, Harry Ericksen, Burke McArthur, Daniel Rasmussen, C. J. Rasmussen, Jas. Syndergaard, Lauritz Larsen, Ml attefmled the meeting ex'-ept Parley Par-ley Hansen, Ed Johnston going in his stead. The question of the selection of a Democrat, to succeed Postmaster Thos. Braby, whose term of office expires ex-pires in February, 1915, rather a line ef topic among the local members mem-bers of the party in Mt. Pleasant at the present time, was injected into ' the proceedings of the meeting somewhat some-what une'.xpectedly after the other business had been disposed of and was discussed at some length. A number of questions were asked and t answered as to the course of pro-ccedure pro-ccedure to be followed in making the selection. The most important information in-formation given out was in a statement state-ment to the effect that the successful aspirant must have the endorsement of the local precinct committee and the btati' committee, and that hofeust be recognized as a loyal and active a. supporter of the party and its prin- ' -cipies. t.i a.
