Show Miss Afton Jensen entertained at a Kensington at her home Thursday afternoon August 21. At the close of her party the invited guests were taken for an automobile ride in S. D. Longsdorf 's new auto. The Misses Crystal and Alta Jen-' Jen-' sen entertained at a Kensington at their home Tuesday August 19. A very enjoyable social was enjoyed by their guests. One of the jolly parties of the i weak was that on Tuesday evening ; when a party of young people planned plan-ned for an outing at the Rainbow Fishery, west of Mount Pleasant. There were fourteen in all, namely: Miss Winnifred Jensen, Burke McArthur, Mc-Arthur, Ronald Nielson, Anna and Mattie Fitzgerald of St. Louis, Carol and Frances Jensen, Obed Nelson, Francis Neilson, Mary Peterson, Marius Jensen, Crystal Jensen, Ray McConigal and Thelma Sutton. The party went on a flat wagon lavishly covered with rugs, mats and ieatongas, made from the inner bark of the paper Mulberry tree of the louth Sea Islands. At the fishery the ladies, with the assistance of the young men, prepared an open air supper by a camp fire. Not being used to cooking by an open - fire, many collars and neckties were soiled and ruined, and faces appeared appear-ed as though all had taken part in the cooking. The fields echoed and rechoei with the popular songs of the day as the young people drove through the meadows. Some of the older members of the Relief Society gave Mrs. John Hasler a very pleasant suprise Tuesday after noon. The occasion the seventieth anniversary of her birth. A dainty luncheon was served. Mrs. Hasler was presented with some beautiful presents. Those present were, Sisters Auntie Freston, Ida Larsen, Hannah Nielson, Annie Car.dland, Tilda Nielson, Niel-son, Lena Madsen, Mina Ericksen, Hannah Candland, Lena Winkler, Ida Merz, Anna Haage, Susanna Allen, Martha Barton, Matilda L. Peterson, Zina Lund, Millie Nielsen, Anna W. Candland, Kate Rasmussen, Eliza Cliff, Anna Peterson, Sena Johansen, Anna Johansen, Lasena Johansen, Mary Reynolds, Ann Seely and Louisa Hasler. Last Sunday a crowd of relatives of Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Madsen spent an enjoyable afternoon and evening gt their ranch just west of town, the ocasion being in honor of the birth of Mr. Madsen. A delicious dinner was served to thirty-six invited guests. |
