Show 1 WESLEY IS KILLED BY PITCHED BALL George Wesley, pitcher and outfielder out-fielder on the Mohrland team of the Carbon-Emery league, was accidently struck on the head by a pitched ball during a game between Castle Gate and Mohrland last Sunday and died early Monday morning as a result. Wesley took his place at bat in the first inning. He attempted to dodge a high fast ball, but the missil caught him on the right temple and laid him out for a few minutes, but he continued contin-ued playing for five innings more when he made a home run and after touching the plate collapsed and was instantly rushed to the hospital at Castle Gate where he died after Dr. Neher and Dr. Slopanskey had done all in their power to save him. A rupture of blood vessels of the brain and a subsequent blood clot was given giv-en as the cause of death. Wesley was 2 0 years old, and came from Lookout, Washington, where his parents now reside. He has been playing ball with Mohrland since last July, and at one time played with Helena in the Union Association. Wesley's father is a Methodist minis-!er minis-!er at Lookout, Washington where the remains were taken Tuesday, ac-comnanied ac-comnanied by several of the Mohrland Mohr-land boys.
