Show j Fairvisw Mrs. Mary Peterson went to Salt Lake Monday to visit her daughter Mrs. Calvin Jones. The stork left baby girls at the homes of Horatio Cox, and Roy Tur-pin Tur-pin this week. Mrs. T. D. Reese and her son, Dr. Byron Reese were guests at the home of Dr. Edmunds last week. On Feb. 20, Mrs. Melgard entertained enter-tained a number of ladies at dinner, covers were laid for eight and a delightful de-lightful afternoon was spent. About twenty of our young people who are attending the Snow Academy Aca-demy came home to spend Washington's Washing-ton's Birthday. Twelve of these students presented present-ed the pla; "Shann Aroon" in the Opera House Saturday evening to a large and appreciative audience. The play was an Irish comedy and was well rendered. They received many compliments on their playing. The Misses Dora and Roenna Day entertained about thirty of their friends Monday evening. The evening eve-ning was spent in music and a number num-ber of unique games were played. Nuts and several kinds of home made candy were served. The Relief Society work meeting held last Monday was a success. A number of things wee sewed for the poor some dc nated raady for wear clothing. Seventy kdiesenjoy-ed kdiesenjoy-ed social hour after the meeting. The literary club met at the home of Mrs. Blanche Olsen Feb. 25. Two papers given at the get acquainted meet of club ladies in Manti were read by Mrs. Jess Turpin and Mrs. A. U. Miner. A paper on table man ners was given by Mrs. J. R. Ander-1 son and Parliamenty law reading by ' Mrs. E. H. Anderson. Fourteen ladies enjoyed the social hour and ; dainty refreshments served. Fred Rigby and Miss Isola Bills were married in the Salt Lake Temple Tem-ple last Wednesday. Mr. Rigby has just returned from a twenty-eight months mission in the east central States. The choir gave him a welcome wel-come home at the home of S. D. Bills on Wednesday evening. A very pleasant pleas-ant evening was spent and delicious refreshments were served Mr. Rigby Rig-by has enjoyed his labors and feels well. His bride is cne of our best young ladies and has certainly showed show-ed herself true blue to hivn. Feb. the eighteenth was the birthday birth-day of Mrs. Neils Jensen, Sr. Her daughter and a number of friends from Mt. Pleasant came to spend I the day with her. The officers and some members of the Relief Society visited her also. An informal mcet-itg mcet-itg was held and a number of hmns sung after which supper was served i to about thirty people. Sister Jensen j I had her leg broken eight years ago j I and has been unable to walk since. I j She certainly bears her suffering 1 ' with great patience. |
