Show SOCIAL EVENTS ! Wednesday evening the Women's Missionary Society of the First Presbyterian Pres-byterian church entertained the church congregation at a very elaborate elabor-ate supper in the church. The tables were beautiful with ccrerpieces of calla lilies and hyacinths and covers were laid for Rev. and Mrs. R. B. Norton. Dr. and Mrs. W. W. McKira-han, McKira-han, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Broadhurst. Following the supper the annual an-nual business meeting of the church was held and the following officers were elected. Church treasurer, H. Guy Wood; three year trustees. N S. Neilsen and G. W. Brand: two year trustees, E. W. Wall and Andrew L. Nilson; one year trustees, Mrs. O. F. Wall and Miss Winifred Jensen. Mr. E. W. Wrare of Ware and Treganza of Salt Lake and Mr. I. L. Wright of Richfield were present and discussed nlans and specifications for the new twenty-five thousand dollar church and manse which the church will erect in the very near future. The building committee consists of Messrs. W. W. McK'rahan, O. F. Wall, A. L. Nilson, N S. Neilsen. F. C. Jensen. S. E. Jensen and J. D. Meyrick. The plans committee were appointed at this meeting and is composed com-posed of W. W. McKlrahan, G. W. Brand, F. C. Jensen, Mrs. O. F. W"all and Mrs. F. C. Jensen. Mr. and Mrs. Raphael Jensen who surprised their friends by their quiet marriage In Salt Lake last Wednesday Wednes-day returned to Mt. Pleasant Monday. The news of their home coming had preceded them and they were met at the depot by the members of the H. HL G., O. O. B's. of which the bridegroom was an old and esteemed member. The newlyweds were conducted con-ducted to a primitive cart bearing numerous placards and inscriptions and were escorted to the home of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Jensen. Wednesday evening the young couple were tendered a wedding wed-ding reception at the S. E. Jensen home. The rooms were beautifully decorated in red hearts and red and white carnations. Friday evening a very successful card party was given at the homo of , Mrs. Morgan Winters. Four tables of 500 were played at which iirst prizes were won by Mrs. J. D. Meyrick Mey-rick and R. L. Madsen, the consolation consola-tion prizes being won by Mrs. A.bram Johnson and Ed Johnston. Severtl very clever and unique guessing games were played at which prizes were awarded to Mrs. J. W. Cherry, Mrs. Ed Johnston, G. L. Baron and H. Le Roy Neilson. A very elaborate four-course luncheon was served on small tables. The list of guests included in-cluded Messrs. and Mesdames R. L. Madsen. The regular meeting of the Twentieth Twen-tieth Century club was held Thursday Thurs-day afternoon with Hiss Hilda Mad-isen. Mad-isen. Mrs. H. C. Jacobs led a round j table discussion on "The Motion Pictures Pic-tures as a Modern Educator." Different Dif-ferent phases of the movies from the view point of the producer, the child, and their social significance were discussed dis-cussed by Mrs. F. C. Jensen, Miss Annie Johansen and Mrs. A. Kroupa and Mrs. Melvina Crane were the honored guests at a four course luncheon given giv-en by the officers of Ivy chapter No. 10, O. E. S. Tuesday noon at the high school. Miss Ethel McCormick gave an excellent read-'ng. read-'ng. Miss Edda Mae Gibson sang and Mrs. R. B. Norton read the fifth chapter chap-ter of "The Child in the Midst." The hostess served luncheon to flf-een flf-een guests. In honor of Mrs. Robert Hineklev ofiProvo, Miss Margaret Candland entertained Saturday afternoon at cards and a spring luncheon. Miss Melba Aldrich entertained Sunday evening for the Misses Katie Ericksen, Gladys Ericksen, Beulah Anderson and Goldie Neilson. Dinner Din-ner was served after which musical numbers were enjoyed. L. E. Sorensen of Idaho was the honored guest at a family dinner Sunday given by Mrs. Erick Gundersen Gunder-sen at the home of her mother. Mrs. Sena Frandsen. Covers were laid for ten.
