Show FAIRVIEW Mrs. Wm. Cheney visited In Provo lust week. Born to the wife of Hyrura Mower, March 21, a baby boy. Bishop James C. Peterson is slowly recovering from a severe attack of pneumonia. Mrs. Lawrence Romero and child-len child-len of Garfield are visiting relatives w& friends here. Henry Mills returned Sunday from Jarlield where he has been employed luring the winter. Mr. Ernest Orten and Mifs Lena Christenson were married In the Manti Man-ti temple Wednesday, March 22. Lester Miner left last week for Washington State where he has employment em-ployment bhearing sheep. Darrel Rasmussen returned to his work at Colton alter spending a few days with parents and frien.'s at Fairview. The Primary officers met at the home of Annie Rasmussen Wednes-lay Wednes-lay and quilted a fine quilt to be given to the poor. Miss Rowena Day. Miss Mamie Madsen and Miss Flossie Anderson spent Saturday and Sunday at Provo visiting friends and relatives. Mr. and Mrs. George A, Hurst, Jr.. of Blending, Utah, visited relatives at Fairview the past week. They came to Salt Lake City and were married a short time ago. Mrs. Hurst was formerly Miss Loua Porter. Tuesday evening about thirty friends of Miss Buena Anderson gave her a very pleasant surprise, it being her birthday anniversary. Games, music and refreshments were enjoyed. en-joyed. About fifteen friends of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pearson met at their home Sunday evening. Games were played play-ed and refreshments were served. Mr. Pearson left Tuesday for the desert des-ert where he expects to remain until July. Miss Vondella Hansen entertainpd fifteen of her friends March 19, at a spring party. A r.'Umber of pleasant pleas-ant and unique games were played. Prizes were won by Verda Miner and Anna Larsen. Dainty refreshments were served. The parents of the ooys who belong be-long to the brass band gave them and their leader, Henry Terry, a ver pleasant surprise at the school house Thursday afternoon. Refreshments were served and a splendid program was enjoyed. The ladles' Literary club met at the home of Mrs. Chas. Peacock Mar. 22. A reading, "Mother," was given by Mrs. S. A. Carter, also a selected reading by Mrs. II. M. Rasmussen, Current Events were given by Mrs. E. H. Anderson. Eleven members and two visitors were present. Dainty Dain-ty refreshments were served. Frank Shepard of Indlanola who was seriously injured when a ten gallon can of gravel fell down a well he was cleaning, is reported out of danger. It appears that the can just grazed him as It fell. Dr. Edmunds of Fairview- was Immediately called after the accident, he set four ribs which were broken and dressed several sev-eral minor wounds. A new- club has lately been started in Fairview with the following members, mem-bers, Mrs. Lucile Day, Mrs. Nettie Cox, Mrs. Oleah Cox, Mrs. Valera Cheney, Misses Verda Cheney, Va-lora Va-lora Allred, Blrdella Pritchett. Anna-bella Anna-bella Pritchett. Sophrona Terry and Ora Bell Hansen. They were entertained enter-tained at the home of Miss Orahelle Hansen March 20. The e.venirg was spent in sewing. Dainty refresn-ments refresn-ments were served. The 17th of March was celebrated by the Relief Society. An excellent program was given, one of the pleasing pleas-ing features of which consisted of everal selections by the school band. Vfter the program all retired to the basement where an excellent luncheon lunch-eon was served. Mrs. A. U. Miner, Jhe retiriug officer was the honored guest of the day. She was presented with a beautiful set of silver ware. V dance was given in the evening to all married people. |
