Show Company D Shot for Record Sunday Special Order Issued From Headquarters General orders no. 17 were received re-ceived by Capt. Thomas Braby of Company D. N. G. U. that pursuant to Circular No. 7 issued at the office of the Commanding Officer there would be held a company Rifle Shoot and competition on the home range of each infantry organization of the state on September 28, 1913. The ranges fired over were the record re-cord course for 1913 namely 300, 500 and 600 yards slow fire and 200 and 300 yards rapid fire. The men who were members of this year's camp Perry Team were not eligible to any prize money, but were permitted to shoot through the course for qualification. At the range of the local company First Lieutenant J. M. Boyden made the high score of 206 at all ranges which entitled him to the first prize of $5.00. Capt. Thos. Braby made second high score of 205 prize points which gave him the second prize of $4.00. Private Peter Lindberg scored scor-ed 201 and got the third prize of $3.00. Second Lieutenant George Christenseu took fourth place with a score of 190 which entitled him to a prize of $2.00. Private Alex Mc-Iff Mc-Iff came next in line for the high score at 600 yards got a prize of $3. His total score on the range was 172. Corporal Clyde McClenahan scored a total of 185 and being high man at the 300 yard rapid fire got a $2.00 prize. Private Lloyd Barton scored a total of 192 and being high man at 200 yard rapid fire got the one dollar prize. Private Burke Mc-Arthur Mc-Arthur was a "bum shot", being lowest low-est man, and made a total of 144. Sergent Ben E. Reynolds was barred barr-ed from the copetition, but made a total score of 236. |
