Show Social Events of the Week. Miss Ada Jensen and Miss Sybel Pearson gave a bundle shower atthe home of Miss Jensen Thursday evening eve-ning in honor of Miss Estella Truscott, Trus-cott, a September bride. The rooms were decorated in Sweetpeas and Dahlias. A nice luncheon was served serv-ed by the hostesses. The invited guests were: Mesdames Willard Barton, Harold Sorenson, Mirlan Anderson, Victor Peterson, Anthony Poulsen, Misses Tressa Madsen, Myra Madsen, Myrtle Johnson, Venetta and Florence Monsen, Effie Rolph, Gladys Seeley, Merial Simpson La-vern La-vern Arnoldsen and Maggie Peterson. Peter-son. Many beautiful pieces of china, silver and glassware and linen were given to the bride elect. Miss Margaret Reynolds entertained entertain-ed at a very unique dinner party at her home Tuesdav afternoon. The guests were the Misses Carol Rasmussen Ras-mussen and Hilda Madsen and Mef srs S. D. Long, Samuel Glace and E. C. Neffers, all of Iowa. A very pleasant pleas-ant afternoon is reported. Miss Margaret Candland enter-tamed enter-tamed a number of her friends at her home last Saturday evening at a three course luncheon. The rooms were beautifully decorated in Golden Gol-den Glows. Miss Hilda Madsen was hostess at a spienaia ncmc party ana burlesque bur-lesque shower Wednesday afternoon of last weak in compliment to Miss Viola Whittaker. The party was conveyed to and from the meadows west of town in the hack. At the picnic grounds an excellent lunch was enjoyed after which the bundles were showered on Miss WhittaKer. The parcels contained a variety of funny articles including clown dolls, teddy bears, safety pins, jumping jacks, etc. Those present were: Hilda Madsen, Viola Whittaker, Ida Merz, Minnie Christensen, Thea Rasmussen, Ras-mussen, Indra Whittaker, Carol Rasmussen Ras-mussen Christie Nielson, and Virgie Whitlock. The best part of the days outing was a shjwer bath from the clouds while enroute for home. Willie and Maxil Swenson entertained enter-tained about twenty of their little friends at a birthday party at their home Sunday. Games and luncheon were enjoyed by the little folks. One of the best social events of the season will be the dancing party which is to be given by the Sou'h Ward Mutual Associations at the Armory Hall on Friday evening of next week, Sept. 12th. In connection connect-ion with the dance, a fruit festival and musical will be enjoyed. Prizes will also be awarded to the best lady and gentleman dancers and a genuine genu-ine good time is promised. Dancing will begin at 8:30 prompt. |
