' Hot house" calves which' will be exhibited in the show must not nave been fed milk since January 1, and no nurse animals will be accepted ac-cepted under rules of the show. Special attention to the diet of pigs is encouraged, with commercial commerc-ial feeding recommended. One cannot develop grand chaimp ions in titvo or three weeks, and for that reason feeding should' be conducted on a regulated standard from, the start. Snow officials request re-quest exhibitors to keep a chart of gains made and expected weight gains of animals. Feed charts must also be kept to ascertain the proper balance of diet, as animals sh.'uld neiti.er be underfed nor overfed. A statement of feed costs, signed by the exhibitor and his leader, .must accompany the animals. ani-mals. Special awards for best showing show-ing as to gains and costs are offered. of-fered. All cattle must be halter broke, and lambs which are not up to par will be sifted. Sifted animals will be sold on the market, officials have ruled. These rulings are made to promote order and encourage encour-age exhibiting of only the best of animals. .The anotto of the show is "Quality above quantity." An increase in premiums of $1000 over last year will attract Future Farmers of America and) 4-H club members from Idaho. Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Nevada, as well as all parts of Utah. |
