There were sleigh tracks vis-1 vis-1 ible and the game warden followed I the tracks under cover of fog and I about 8 p. m. he came upon the five men with two elk neatly dress-' dress-' ed and starting for 6'ae homeward trip. The men in the party were Niels Christiansen, 70; Reese Samuels, 22; Jack Robertson. 33; E. J. Robertson, 30; and Clarence Mower, 40. The men were put under arrest by the ..vardon. The following Wednesday .our of tlie men were taken before J. R. Witbeck, Justice of the Peace t Manti, and pleaded guilty of the charge of possession of elk meat cut of season. They were each rentenced to pay a fine of $100.00. They did not pay the fine and are serving time in the county jail. E. J. Robertson will appear later as he is now on the desert. |
