Lund $1.50 PER YEAR VOL.5 No. 29 David Keith Bldg., Dial SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, EKIDAX, AUC.15 I-- -' WfinaH Will lappee to Om America In the Eight Or Nine Years to-Com- e? BEGINNING THE STORY (Today we begin publishtng serially The Next Nine Years by Mr. Wing Anderson. It leads up to the Revolution about to begin in America) First Printing, July 1938 "The Next Nine Years published in July 1938. The following evaluation of the coming nine years is based on a study, extending over several years, of many prophecies dealing with these times. The author believes he has discovered the key where-b- y he is able to correlate prophecy with time and know when the many events foretold may be expected to develop. There are an astonishing number of prophecies, some dating back several centuries, which seem to be directed to the years in which we are now living. Every "sign of the times" indicates that this decade is a period in which individuals, nations and religions will be weighed in the scales of the Supreme Intelligence. Those individuals and institutions ready to accept, the new order will be saved from the coming destruction; those tied to the past who are spending their energies trying to hold on to things which have outlived their usefulness will go down with them. The following prophecy was written by an American Essene, in July, 1889, forty nine years ago, and is in the archives of the American Essenes. "According to the latest calculations we have fifty-eig- years ,f aoarl tn apt rpadv in H889 olus 58 brines us to the year 1947). At or before that time all the present governments, religions and all moneyed monopolies are to be overthrown and go out of existence. This prophecy is figured by mathematical rules and figures. "The increase in unrest in society is an unmistakable sign fore-shadowing what is to come to the great masses of people in a short time. "Various combinations of capital and labor are signs of increasing weakness. The extremes so opposite must culminate in destruction. Mathematically it seems just as certain as a collision when two trains are approaching on the same track. To prevent the coming calamity many combinations will be resorted to. They will overrun America, tear down the American flag and, trample it under foot. In Europe the disaster will be even more terrible. Capital will back up the church in persecution, generally anarchy will follow and hundreds of thousands of the people will be killed. In China and India so terrible will be the fall that words cannot describe it. All nations will be de-molished and all the world will be thrown open to all people to go and come as they please." As you look about the world and watch events unfold, you should realize the wisdom of the advice herein given. Knowledge of the future is of no value unless one acts upon it. Liberty will vanish, and with it, freedom of speech, freedom cf the press, freedom of organization and assembly. A military dictator-ship will be the order of the day. When? 1941 is the year! A knowledge of the past is useful only to the extent that itpermits us to interpret the present and the future. 'History repeats itself is an old platitude but there was never a more truthful one. Each generation passes through the cycle of birth, ma-turity, reproduction and death; individual, nation, and planet are governed by similar laws and pass through the same four steps of existence. Evolution is an ever ascending spiral. Each recurring cycle is a circle in the spiral of time, each point on the" circle sees a repetition of what has gone before but on a higher and more advanced level. We see our sons and daughters making the same mistakes that we did when we were the age that they are now. And like them, we too thought our elders a generation of old fogies vho had profited little in wisdom for having lived so long. History tells us that men and nations who lived centuries ago had economic problems similar to those of today. Panics, depressions, revoultions and wars are as old as humanity itself. Each has its place in the cycle of time and each time of tur-moil has been followed by a period of peace and prosperity. The prevalence of unrest and chaos throughout the world today is the best proof possible that a time of peace is ahead. Life is ever expressing itself in new forms and combina-tions. Life is within everything and manifests its presence in the mineral as positively as in the animal kingdom. As we ascend in the orders of life from the mineral to man we find an evolving mind and spirit. It is reasonable to assume that unfoldment does not end with existence in our three dimensional world but continues on in the unseen realms of spirit. A quarter century of investigation has convinced the writer that there are minds in unseen spiritual heavens, of individuals who once livd on earth, as far in advance of any possessed by man as is the mind of on Einstein superior to that of an Australian Bushman. The development of the cell is a microscopic experience of the individual. The individual is a miniature reproduction of the history of the race and manknd the evolution of a universe. Man, in his development from birth to death, is a of the history of all mankind. Race man has not yet reached his mental maturity. When he does each nation will live in peace with every other nation; co-operation will replace competition, production will be for use and not for individual or national profit and there will be plenty for all in place of too much for the few and too little for the many. PROGRESSIVE OPINION EDITORIALS By C. N. LUND Subject. Few Papers Discuss-Onl- y Cranks. Mr S. .1 Norton, San .lose, Calif., says in the Prophetic Age for August, that Christ is expected to return and take the throne as actual ruler of this world at a date not later than September, 1, 1946 This is somewhat of a startling prediction, and yet to students of events and prophesy it, is something to be expected The truth is that the trend of the ages has been toward that event and it will become a historical fact. All that is going on in the world today is but preparing the way. Long before 1946 humanity will be in such a depressed and helpless condition that hosts will cry out for such a deliverance. ' Knowing that this coming of the Saviour is so near we know that the little and imperfect, plans of men will fail, and the bpst work that people can do is to prepare for this great event which will usher in the long-looke- d for Golden Age of man. Y es, Money Counts-Makes,Unm- akes Men Editor Progressive Opinion "Yes, it is money that counts and anyone who has a thought contrary can go to6the fig gatherings They will always find the theives with money to count standing in the high and mighty places with beautiful homes, every convenience science has been able to bring forth. No doubt their ugly consciences smite them at times and they get a little comfort harping about the days of hardships and sacrifices. "Those that have fostered som? pet scheme whereby they have been able to exploit and get all the beautiful and won-derful things they have the money to buy, when some hum-ane plan is being discussed and voted for that may deprive them so they have less money to count just look at their clenc-hed fist and the ra?cal iage in their greedy eyes. What a fall the world is taking l ' Interpretation of Ezkiel 38-3- 9 Daniel Magdiel, long a student of Russian philosophy and a firm believer in the idea that Russia is Israel, or ihe S ten tribes, was in during the week and made an explanation of war affairs somewhat as follows : The prophesies and foiecasts in the 38 and the 39 chap-- ; tera of Ezekiel can be explained in no other way than in taking the stand that he does and admitting what he believes about Russia. Gomer, which is Germany, has persuaded the kings of the earth to do battle, and with all his bands, Italy, Japan, M France and others., is coming against Russia, going up to the land of uncalled cities and villages to them that dwell safely Mto take a spoil and arey. But, according to his interprets-- ' tion of Ezekiel, the invaders will find that they will fall on the M mountains of Israel, and will find a valley of graves where it will require seven month to bury the dead and cleanse the land. Can't Bell Democracy There The appalling poverty in most of the South American countrus appears to be a stumbling block to the development of democracy Under what they call democracy down there the poorer classes are in worse economic straits today than ever before and it is very difficult, says a writer to sell them any more democratic ideas. In all to many instances they have been left without education and have gone hungry for so long that they will be an easy prey to dictatorial tyranny. "It is useless," says the writer mentioned, to educate a child until it has had its breakfast. Free enterprise, as it works down there, and everywhere, is the finest thing in the world for the profiteering few, the exploiters, the strong and the shrewd and the cunning, but it is very hard on the struggling masses. Plant a Flower-Gi-ve Some Kinduess Ed itor Progressive Opinion : Why raise weeds when flowers look so much better? Of course it takes work and attention to raise flowers while weeds grow on their own accord It costs no more effort to say a kind word, than to say the opposite. As flowers gladden the heart, and are sweet to the smell, so kind words give encour-agement, and never leave a bad taste in the mouth, while ' ords of sarcasm, discouragement and hate, are weeds that should not be permitted to grow. There are no kind deeds Without kind thoughts; you do not gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles At a children's hospital a small boy, suffei ing from infantile paralysis had just been placed in a wheel chair He learned that a littie girl patient was also waiting for the chair and immediately asked to be returned to his bed. When asked his reason he said, '"Where I come from it's always ladies first." A local business men overheard him and now the gallant little gentleman has a wheel chair of his own. C. V. Hansen. How Evil Flourishes Increase In Liquor We are reliable informed that the alcoholic drink con. sumption for 1941 will be 4,000,000 gallons more than in 1940. That shows the trend, and that trend is, to say the least, quite trag;c It m ans that there will be many more drunks who will dissolve their children's hopes and opportunities in distil-led damnation; who will furrow the cheeks of suffering wives with tears of sorrow and break thein with heartache that shortens life. One r f the saddest of all human sights is to see the trusting wives at, home, toiling and struggling, caring for the little or big brood, and figuring how to make the few miserly dollars she get-- i to keep the souls and bodies together, hile the drinking man makes merry in ine saloon and furn-ishes all the things for th saloon keeper's family which has bpen denied his own. If the veil could be lifted and the com-munity and church leaders made to behold all the wreck and misery and sin and damnation that is wrought by hell's chief agent, the liquor traffic, they would throw up their hands in horror.
