Show Reception Honors Newlyweds After Temple Wedding One of the very pretty affairs of the late winter was the wedding reception, given in the First ward chapel Thursday evening, by Mr. and Mrs. Nimrod Urie, honoring their daughter Shirley Ann, and Arlen Lamarr Hadley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lamarr Hadley of Bar-stow, Bar-stow, California. In the receiving line, assisting the young couple, were their parents, and the, bride's sister Mrs. Florence Woodhouse, matron of honor and Miss Agne Urie, and Miss Lorraine Roberts, brides maids, and Jack Hadley, as best man for his brother. The bridal party stood before a background of two tall bouquets of pink and white snapdragons, enhanced by pink streamers and potted ferns. For her wedding the bride donned don-ned a gown of white organdy, embroidered em-broidered with tiny hearts .fashioned .fash-ioned full skirt, ballerina length. Her dainty sheer fingertip viel, fell from a standing crown of net and seed pearls. She carried orchid, nestled in stephonitis. . Her attendants also worevballer-ina worevballer-ina length gowns; Mrs. Woodhouse pink, Miss Urie blue and Miss Roberts pink. They held small fancy bouquets of camelias, and split carnations. Both mothers wore camelias on their shoulders. Hostesses were Shirleen Taylor, Betty Page and Mary Hogland. Miss Ardena Beck handled the guest book. During the receiving hours, music was played by Robert Man-ookin Man-ookin and Mrs. Farr Hatch. The brief program, introduced by Jack Hadley included the Sweet Heart song by Sorority Sisters of the bride; "Through the Years" and "My Heart Is A Silent Violin" by Mr. Schriner. A toast to the newlyweds by Mrs. Lyean Johnson and a reading by Ranae Johnson. Gifts were arranged by Mrs. Ray Devereax, Mrs. Ethan Allen, Miss Betty Moyle, Dena Devereax. Dever-eax. Table from ' which the tasty refreshments were served by girl friends of the bride, was attractively attract-ively set, covered with a cut work linen cloth, and centered with a three-tier wedding cake, flanked with white candles and pink rose buds. x The young couple were married on Feb. 18, in the Salt Lake LDS temple. Elder Harold B. Lee of the Council of Twelve officated. They are currently honeymooning honeymoon-ing in Arizona and California. On their return they will make their home in Provo where Mr. Hadley will resume his studies at BYU. |
