JAY JOHNSON Openhouse Honors Newlyweds After Marriage Ceremony September 25 Married in the Timpanogos Stake House last Wednesday evening, Sept. 25, was Miss Alta Mae Whiteley and Jay Johnson. Bishop Karl N. Butler performed the marriage mar-riage ceremony. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Theron Whiteley of Orem, while Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Johnson are parents of the groom. In the evening of the same day the parents of the young couple entertained at an open house in their honor. In the receiving line with the bride and groom were their parents, par-ents, beat man Marvin Peay, cousin cou-sin of the groom; matron of honor, hon-or, Mrs. Robert K. Anderson, sister sis-ter of the bride, and attendants, Mrs. Lynn Smith, and Mrs. William Oreer, sisters, and Paulette Johnson, John-son, sister of the groom and Ra-mona Ra-mona Chappell. The bride's dress was designed by the bride and made by her mother. It was made of a fine scalloped, hand-clipped chantilly-type chantilly-type lace, embroidered in a romantic ro-mantic bouquet pattern. The lace was magnificantly combined with faille enriched by a scattering of pearls and ;embroidered applique. The moulded bodice of lace had a scalloped neckline, short sleeves, and drop waist line, while the full skirt draped softy over tiers of lace at the bottom. A tapering veil of illusion was attached from a headpiece of lace and pearls. The brides flowers were stephan-otis stephan-otis and were carried on a -white pearled bible. The attendants dresses were empire em-pire sheaths of light gold with metallic thread and they carried flowers of butterflies of gold tri-cotine tri-cotine and light bronze pom poms. Mrs. Whiteley wore a tan lace dress and Mrs. Johnson wore a tan dress also. An autumn theme of yellow and brown was carried out in the receiving re-ceiving area, serving and other entertaining en-tertaining rooms. Greeting guests at the door were Mr. and Mrs. Shrylan T. Whiteley and Mr. and Mrs. Lyean Johnson. Handling the guest book was Joan Frandson and Sheron Schauerham-er. Schauerham-er. Hal Haycock played the organ music during the evening. Girls serving were Beckie Prest-wich, Prest-wich, Julie Nical, Carolyn Cameron, Camer-on, Lorraine Gagon, Vicki Rowe, Mary Jane Duke and Janice Edwards. Ed-wards. The gift tables were decorated decor-ated with autumn leaves and white bells with big yellow and brown bows. In charge of gifts were Mrs. Max E. Harper, Mrs. Bill Trimble and Mrs. Jimmy Baxter, assisted by Janice Morgan, Bonnie Christiansen, Chris-tiansen, Joan Miller, Marilyn Wallace, Wal-lace, Linda Ercanbrack, Migs Todd and Diane Wiley. The young couple honeymooned in Las Vegas. |
