Show Reception Honors Newlyweds in Lindon Chapel To soft organ music, amid colorful color-ful gladioli and glimmering candlelight, candle-light, Mr. and Mrs. Don M. Shumway Shum-way greeted their relatives and friends at their wedding reception held recently at the- Lindon Ward Chapel. The bride, the former Thea Jane Joppjrs; n, and her husband were united in Manti Temple ceremonies cer-emonies with Elder Pratt Allied officiating. The new Mrs. Shumway is the daughter of Mr. anil Mrs. Doyle D. Jepperson of Orem. and the groom is a son of Mrs. Eunice Shumway of Lindon. For her bridal gown the bride chose a white satin model with a full skirt, covered with white tulle and lace. An Elizabethan collar graced the neckline and the sleeves had long pointed cuffs. Her fingertip finger-tip veil matched her gown. A lavender lav-ender orchid surrounded by white carnations and tied with long white satin streamers made up the bride's bouquet. The bride's sister, maid of honor, Loa Jepperson, wore a brown taffeta taf-feta semi-formal dress while the four bride's maids, Ilene. Jepperson, Jepper-son, Carlene Morris, Jo Ann Tucker, Tuck-er, and Donna Blackett, wore yellow yel-low taffeta semi-formal dresses. All of the bride's attendants carried car-ried sprays of autumn flowers with brown and yellow satin ribbons. Nyle Shumway of Lindon, brother broth-er of the groom, was best man, and Dan Jepperson and Elvin Shumway acted as ushers. Both the bride and bridegroom's mother wore brown street dresses to which pinned corsages of white carnations with silver ribbon. The evening program consisted of instrumental solos and vocal selections as well as readings. Mrs. Harold Keetch provided the organ background music before the program pro-gram began. Serving the guests in the reception recep-tion hall, which was decordated with bouquets of fragrant, varicolored vari-colored carnations and roses, were friends and relatives of the bride and groom: Mrs. Glen Jepperson, Mrs. Lyle Rigby, Carol Craner, Pat Snyter, Susann Jepperson, Carol Petty, and Connie Lane. Mrs. Robert Jepperson, Mrs. Lois Shumway, Shum-way, Joan Jacobsen, Perry and Jerry Rigby, Gwen Gay Williams and Sandra Tucker assisted with the gifts. In charge of the guest book was Lanore Roundy of Walls-burg Walls-burg . The groom attended Pleasant Grove High School and was releas-e releas-e dfrom the U. S. Army in 1952, after having served 26 months in the armed forces. The bride is a 1953 graduate from Lincoln High Sschool and; LDS Seminary in Orem. The couple are now at home in Lindon. |
