Show Funeral Services Held Tuesday For Charles Edwin Younq Relatives and friends from far and near gathered at the Third ward chapel Tuesday, to pay final tributes of respect to the memory of Charles Edwin Young and express ex-press sympathy for his family. The impressive service, began at 2 p.m. with Bishop Calvin Walker in charge. Invocation was offered by C. A. Rasmussen. A double quartette, J. C. Hilton, Hil-ton, John Hilton, Charles Christianson, Christ-ianson, Cloyd Chrisianson, Glade Hilton, Rulon Adams, Vance J. West, and Lyman Nielson,. sang Sweet Hour of Player. They were accompanied by Anne West, who also played prelude and postlude organ music. Speakers who paid tribute to the departed and his family and spoke words of consolation and encouragement, en-couragement, and also bore strong testimonies of the gospel were G. V. Billings, former members of the Duchesne stake, C. A. Stilson, also a former bishop and member of the stake presidency; and Jos. S. Walker, former bishop of the Third ward. An organ solo ''Going Home" was played by Anne West. Closing remarks of sympathy and appreciation were spoken by Bishop Calvin Walker. The double quartette sang "I J Need Thee Every Hour." Benediction was pronounced by J. C. Hilton. Burial directed by Olpin Mortuary Mor-tuary was made in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Pallbearers, grandsons and nephews nep-hews were Clarence Neilson Jr., Rex Nielson, Carl Powell, John ' and Wayne Young, and Ozro Smith. Third Ward Relief Society and Pleasant Grove Garden Club, cared for the floral offerings. Mr. Young was born at Orange-ville, Orange-ville, Utah, on October 6, 1892, a son of Squire Dagbert and Ser-enia Ser-enia Eugenie Stilson Young. On Feb. 14, 1916, he married Dora Pa-well at Vernal. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their home in Duchesne Duch-esne until 16 years ago, when they moved to Pleasant Grove. Mr. Young was an elder in tho L. D. S. church and a ward teacher in the Third ward. Survivors include his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Doris) Neilson, two sons Glen Young, Orem, and Dallas Carl Young, Pleasant Grove; two brothers, Alfred Young, Pingree, Idaho, and Floyd Young. Burley, Idaho; a sister Mrs. Berl Smith, Oregon, and eight grand-children. |
