Show Funeral Is Held Saturday For Claude Newman The Third ward chapel was well filled with sorrowing relatives and friends, who gathered to pay final tribute of respect to the memory of Claude Newman and to offer sympathy to the family.' The services conducted by Bishop Bish-op Calvin Walker began at 12:30 o'clock. Malcolm Christianson offered of-fered the invocation. Mrs. Leone Told and Mrs. Ethel Anderson, accompanied by Miss Anne West, sang "If We Could See Beyond Today." Speakers who spoke words of faith and ecouragement to the family and paid tribute to the j memory of Mr. Newman -were: J. C. Hilton, Leon Walker, and Jos-1 eph S. Walker. All told of Mr. Newman's honesty and kindliness and of his quiet, unassuming nature, nat-ure, and good neighborliness. I They were interspersed by a vocal duet, "In The Garden," sung by Mrs. S. W. Hilton and Elwood Allen, accompanied by Mrs. Mary Neves; and a vocal trio, "A Perfect Per-fect Day," by Mr. and Mrs. Leo Ford, and Elizabeth Hawkins, accompanied ac-companied by Dixie Gordon. Closing remarks of sympathy and appreciation were made by Bishop Walker. i Miss Anne West played an organ or-gan solo, and also played prelude and postlude organ music. Benediction was pronounced by i Stanley West. I Interment was made in the PI. j Grove City Cemetery, where Howard Warnick offered the dedi-1 catory prayer. I Pall bearers were Reed and Dale ' Newman, Lyman Terry, Dick Newman, Merrill Crandall, Delbert ( Sykes. j Flowers were arranged by the ' Third Ward Relief Society. j |
