Show Reception Held Wednes. Honors Young Newlyweds Manila ward recreation hall was the scene of a nicely arranged wedding reception on Wednesday evening, when Mr. and Mrs. E. Ray Brown entertained relatives and friends in honor of their daughter Jane and Earl L. Smith, son of President Jesse M. Smith of the Snowflake Stake and Mrs. Smith. The bridal pair and their party stood in front of a gorgeous basket bask-et of feathery yellow mums and gleaming candles. In the line with the newlyweds were their parents, the bride's sister, Mrs. June Chadwick, matron mat-ron of honor, other attendants were Lilia Smith, Shirley Fowles, Ruth Christianson and Helen Olson. Ol-son. Roy Smith, brother of the groom assumed the duties, of. best man. The attractive bride chose for her wedding a gown of shimmering shimmer-ing white slipper satin. Her fine net lace trimmed viel fell from a tiara of seed pearls. She carried orchids. All the bride's attendants were gowned in pastel formals and held matching bouquets. The bride's brother Easton tsrown or American orK, as master mas-ter of ceremonies , introduced the program numbers, a vocal solo, "A Little House on Top of A Hill' sung by Mrs Lyneer Smith, accompanied accom-panied by her husband; a toast to the groom by Gordon Hawkins; a piano solo, Mary -Neves; and a toast to the bride by Donna Ash; and a vocal solo by Warren Kirk. Dancing and refreshments completed com-pleted the evenings festivities. The table in the serving room covered with hand crocheted lace cloth, was centered with a beautiful beauti-ful wedding cake, flanked by lighted ligh-ted candles. Carolyn Chadwick, niece of the bride, with a group of other young girls served. Arranging the beautiful display of gifts were Elva Brown, Norma Smith and Mrs. Roy Brown. The popular young couple were married earlier in the day at the Salt Lake L .D. S. Temple with Elder Joseph Fielding Smith officiating. offi-ciating. Accompanying them to the temple and witnessing the ceremony cer-emony were, N their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Easton Brown, Mrs. June Chadwick, Roy Smith, Lilia Smith, Mrs. Fern E. Smith, Helen Olson and Carol Butler. Following the marriage th entire en-tire party were guests of President Presi-dent and Mrs. Jesee M. Smith at the Doll House. Following the reception the couple left for a honeymoon tour to California, and to Arizona, where they will be present at the marriage of the groom's sister at the Mesa Temple. |
