The young couple were identified id-entified as Earl Lloyd Davis, 23, N. Harper Ave, Hollywood, California, and his bride of three days, Frances Fran-ces Ann Germano Davis, 20. The bodies were found by Irving Pratt, manager of the Alpine Villa, and Clarence O. Zobell, assistant manager. They told officers that they felt something was wrong, as they had not seen Mr. and Mrs. Davis after they registered Tuesday Tues-day morning. Mr. Davis' body was stretched face down on the floor and Mrs. Davis' body was lying in bed. They notified Don Walker, Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove City Marshal,, and county coun-ty officers and Dr. B. C. Line-baugh, Line-baugh, who made a complete investigation. in-vestigation. The facts were brought out at the inquest that the cylinder type oil heater was turned on by Mr. Zobell at the time the cabin was occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Davis, and the heater was apparently in first class condition. However at the time the bodies were found, the fire was out and the jet open, and the entire area of the apartment was covered with a fine coating of soot, and the pipe was pulled out of the flue. Expert witnesses from the chemistry chem-istry department of the Brigham Young University testified that it was possible to produce carbon monoxide from the burning of oil, and Dr. B. C. Linebaugh testified as to the conditions found at the Alpine Villa where he was called to examine the bodies. E. A. Davis, father of the deceased de-ceased man, and B. A. Pyle and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Belfield of Hollywood arrived at Pleasant; Grove Thursday afternoon and will arange for taking the remains of Mr. and Mrs. Davis to California where they will be buried. The young couple were on their way East to visit with her parents par-ents when the accident occurred. |
