Grove Students Graduate At WY" Five students from , Pleasant " OMVftMrtilbftjunang Xaa,a8Ztufk-ents Xaa,a8Ztufk-ents awarded degrees at Brigham Young University in commencement commence-ment exercises June 4. The graduation candidates from Pleasant Grove area are: Lyravine Jensen, Edith Jean Anderson, John M. Christiansen, Donna Olpin Ash, and Emily Anderson Pederson. Baccalaureate services honoring the graduating classes-largest in the history, of the university-will be held Junel, and traditional alumni al-umni reunions will take place on the campus June 3. The commencement commence-ment address will be delivered by Ezra Taft Benson, member of the Council of ' the Twelve of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints, Master's degrees will be conferred confer-red upon 21 candidates in the graduate school and bachelor's degrees upon 466 candidates in the colleges of applied science, arts and science, commerce, education, ecf- ucation, and fine arts. Jean Anderson And-erson of Pleasant Grove, Utah will deliver the valedictory representing represent-ing her class. The commencement will be the 71st held since the founding of the - university by Brigham Young in 1875, and will have special significance signif-icance in relation to the current centennial anniversary of the sett" ling -of Utah by Brigham Young ; and the Mormon pioneers in 1847. |
