Jack Boren left Wednesday for Farragut, Idaho, to resume his training alter visitning with his wife, and with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Boren. i(Jorporal Adrian Atkinson is enjoying en-joying a furlough here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Atkinson. Atkin-son. Corporal Atkinson is stationed station-ed at Turner Field, Georgia. Lieutenant Rex B. Walker and Mrs. WaL'ker arrived here last week from North Carolina, where Lieutenant Walker has recently completed training. After visiting with their par-nets Mr. and Mrs. Bazil Walker and Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Stark, they will go to Fort Bliss, near El Paso, Texas, for Lieutenant Walkers next assignment. assign-ment. Leo West, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. G. West has recently been advanced ad-vanced to Corporal. Corporal West is stationed in North Africa, where he has been since April. Max Macfarlane arrived home Saturday evening to visit with his parents Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Macfarlane. Mac-farlane. Max, who is in the army reserve signal corps has be-en attending at-tending the Grant union junior college col-lege at Sacramento, California. After his furlough here he will rec port at Fort Douglas, Utah. A-nother A-nother son of Mr. and Mrs. Macfarlane, Macfar-lane, Lieutenant M. J. Macfarlane, left her Thursday evening for his new assignment at Chanute Field, Illiniois. Ted Esklund, son of Mrs. Mary Esklund, lias recently completed his basic training at Camp Kearns, and is now attending school as an aviation student at the Utah State i Agricultural College in Logan. Wayne Baslian, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bastian is an aviation student at North Dakota. Mrs. Ethel W. Carlson has rece" rived word that her son Private Dale West is attending an engineering engin-eering school at Lcland Stanford University. Private Robert Stagg, Private First Class Reed Radmall and El-wood El-wood Green returned Thuesday t Camp Forrest, Tennessee, after spending ten days here with relatives relat-ives and friends. Trivate Ranccll Sorensen returned return-ed last week end to the Salt Lake Airport, after spending a two week furlough here. While home Private Sorensen and Miss Loyce Jackson of Payson wore married. Sergeant Ray L. Green spent 2 dayqs Vast week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Green. Sgt. Green is now stationed at Tusco, Arioan. where he will cninpiele advance-! training in the army air forces. Mr. nnd Mrs. Sam Jorgensen have uist received word from their son Mark that he has been advanced advan-ced to Sergeant. Sergeant Jorgensen, Jorgen-sen, who entered the armed forces in July, 1042. is n graduate of the Tooele high school, and is now stationd with the army engineer corps in New Guinea. I |
