Show American Fork Locals Mrs. Melvin W. Grant left this week for Southern California to spend a month visiting with her brothers and families, Dr. and Mrs. Carl Andreasen of Los Angeles An-geles and Captain and Mrs. Juel L. Andreasen of Fort Ord. Mrs. William Vincent of Provo spent the week end visiting with her daughter, Mrs. Henry Chip-man Chip-man and family. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Johnson John-son of Provo were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. George D. Pierce. Joseph W. Anderson, Spanish Fork, a former resident, and clerk of the First ward for several seve-ral years has been selected first counselor to Bishop Ray Gull of the Spanish Fork Second ward. Mr. Anderson moved from American Amer-ican Fork about eight years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Axel Andreasen of Orem and Mr. and Mrs. I. J. Johnson of Ephraim were Sunday Sun-day visitors and dinner, guests of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin W. Grant. Mrs. Robert E. Booth and Mrs. Relva Booth Ross visited over the week-end in Salt Lake City with Mr. and Mrs. I. R. Morrison and family. Officers of the Fourth ward Relief Society met Monday evening eve-ning for their monthly meeting and social at the home of Mrs. Bert Timpson. Welfare sewing and making of drapes for their room in the church occupied the time. Refreshments were served by the hostess. nrs to Mrs. Dick Bennett and Alvin Rieske. Mrs. Dean Taylor and daughter daugh-ter Deanna of Provo are visiting this week with Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Birk and family. Mrs. Joseph Reed of Salt Lake City is visiting indefinitely with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Green. Mrs. Don Clyde and two children, chil-dren, June and Larry, spent Monday and Tuesday visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Tho-mas S. Priday. Junior Literary League Miss Margaret Thurman of the Lehi High School English department, de-partment, will review the book "Thirty Minutes Over Tokyo" for the Junior Literary League when they meet Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Sherman Robinson. Mrs. Leo Van Wagoner Wagon-er will be co-hostess. Another group of young music lovers are organizing a study group. They met for the second time Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Kenneth McDonald where they enjoyed a musical program and refreshments. The officers, Mrs. Loyal Runalsson, president, Mrs. Lennis Abel, vice-president, vice-president, and Mrs. Reona Cord-ner, Cord-ner, secretary, are making plans for the year. Leanna Cahn was the guest of honor , Tuesday when her mother, Mrs. David Cahn entertained enter-tained for her 7th birthday. The 18 little girls present dramatized Cinderella with story book dolls, gave program numbers and had dancing. The birthday dinner was served at a long table which featured a pink and white scheme in the decorations, cake and ice cream. Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Hansen of Portland, Oregon, have announced an-nounced the birth of a son March 5. The happy grandpar- J ents are Mr. and Mrs. Leo T. Hansen and Mr. and Mrs. Lott Russon of Lehi. Mrs. J. T. Burton and son Paul of Salt Lake City are visiting indefinitely with Mrs. Burton's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Crookston. Primary officers and teachers of the Second ward were guests of Mrs. J. Stanley Peters Wednesday Wed-nesday evening of last week. Plans for ward conference were made and the Bible lesson given by Mrs. Amy W. Kng. Refreshments Refresh-ments were served with Mrs. King, Mrs. John Varney and Mrs. Mickie Harris assisting the hostess. Mr. and Mrs. Walter F. Bowen were hosts Friday evening to a family dinner given in honor of their son Staff Sgt. Fred Bowen who left Sunday for Camp Hood, Texas. Covers were laid for Mr. , and Mrs. Clyde Boren and ' two sons, and Mrs. Weldon Wozzley and two sons of Malad, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. Olin Garrett of Boise; Mrs. O. R. Warburton of Burbank, Calif., Miss Delia Bow- en of Salt Lake City, Miss Norma Eowen, Miss Nila Nesbit, and Ray Hcaley of Provo, Mr. and Mrs.! Leo Bowen and family, Mrs. Glen Evans and son Tommy, Miss Vilate Bowen and the host and hostess. The relatives from Idaho and California had spent the week visiting here during Sgt. Bowen's furlough. He expects to be assigned as-signed to overseas duty very soon. Happy Birthday Club Mrs. Adin Brown entertained the Happy Birthday club of Alpine Saturday, her birthday.
