Show School Promotes 'Taps' for Farmers TULSA, OKLA. It 'sounded all wet when the Chamber of Commerce listed a "Hot and Cold Running Water School" in its calendar of coming events. But all was clear after Farm Manager Man-ager C. A. Border offered his explanation. ex-planation. His idea, it appears, is " to replace the "old oaken bucket" with a newfangled faucet by installing install-ing water systems in farm homes. Figures compiled by Border show that 204,000 Oklahoma farm families have to tote their water in buckets from wells. Members of each farm family which must resort to well water for its drinking supply travel a total distance of 152 miles yearly lugging water, he reports. The one-day school here is designed de-signed to bring state agricultural and Indian service leaders together with water system manufacturers to promote "taps" for farmers. |
