Show Manila Clubs C3old Exhibition Manila 4-H girls club held their exhibit and Ward day on Tuesday, August 26, at the home of their supervisor, Mrs. Merrill N. Warn-ick. Warn-ick. Mothers ofthe girls were special spec-ial guests. Mrs. Jenniev Poulson, home demonstrator Was present and officiated of-ficiated at the exercises. Miss Dolores Dol-ores Child of the Home Demonstration Demonstra-tion office, Mrs. Child of Spring-ville Spring-ville and Mrs. Cornaby of Spanish Fork were judges. The progran included a piano solo, Ann Clark, report on 4-H club county outing, Ida Young; report on clothing club, President Maudell Nix; report on food club, secretary Janet Shannon; club song, "Dreaming", Doris Wadley and Jean Pulley, Joann Roundy, Ila Young and Ann Clark. A talk, "What 4-H Club Work Means to Me" Jean Pulley; What 4-H Club Work means to Our Home, Mrs. Ray Pulley; a discussion discus-sion on 4-H standards, Mrs. War-nick; War-nick; group discussion . on fine points of judging canned fruits, Lena Jean Dalton, Nancy Lou Warnick, Janet Shannon and Shirley Shir-ley Swenson. Style review, led by Joann Roundy, Roun-dy, Ila Young, Maudell Nix, Ann Clark, Doris Wadley, Jean Pulley. Before making awards, Mrs. Poulson told of the value of club work. The Danish method of a-wards a-wards was used. In the sewing club, led by Mrs. Pay Pulley, blue ribbons were awarded to Ila Young Joann Roundy, DorisWadley, and Ann Clark and red ribbons to Maudell Nix and Jean Pulley. In the Foods club with Mrs. Carol Swenson leader, blue ribbons were won by Nancy Lou Warnick, Shirley Swenson, Lena Jean Dalton, Dalt-on, Arlene Harris and Janet Shannon, Shan-non, while red ribbons went to Jane Iverson and Virginia Jeppson. Miss Shirley Swenson won blue ribbons for a special exhibit of muffins and cookies. Blue ribbons for their vegetable garden display were won by Arlene Harris and Nancy Lou Warnick. In each girls clothing exhibit was a dress, a sleeping garment, an article for clothing storage, a hemmed patch and a record book. Food club girls each exhibited a recipe file complete with recipe and menu, a record book and a minimum of 6 jars of canned fruit. The girls are now preparing an exhibit for the county achievement day at Provo, September 3. Also they are preparing for the community com-munity Fair on September 12. |
