Show Carrol Stott t i Private Carrol Stott son of Lester Les-ter W. A. and Ellen, Stewart Stott, was born at Duchesne, Duchesne County, March 4, 1919. He finished his grade school at Duchesne and took, an active part in scouting. . . After moving to Pleasant Grove he graduated from the Pleasant Grove high school May 21, 1937. He was active in school athletics, especially in basketball and football. foot-ball. He was a member of the National Guard in 1937 and 1938. Going to California he followed construction work, and on Dec. 14, 1940, signed up with the contractors contrac-tors of tht Pacific Naval Air Base at Midway Island, North Pacifc, and sailed on the S. S. Matsonia Passenger liner, and was at Midway Mid-way Island when shelled by the Japs December 7, 1941. He returned re-turned to the states on a cargo ship Jan. 2S, 1912, and landed at San Diego, Feb. 15, 1942. He was inducted May 28, 1942 at Los Angeles and was sent to the Precidio of Menterey, California, and was tranferred to Pittsburg, California, June 4, 1942, and had his training as a Military Police at Camp Stoneman, where he is stationed stat-ioned at the present time. At this time he is having his furlousrh and with his wife are visiting vis-iting his parents. |
