Show Dance Held Wednesday For Soldiers .A fine example of Western Hospitality Hos-pitality was shown Wednesday evening, when the people of Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove entertained over 150 of the soldiers from the airbase squadron, which is temporary loc- .ated at the local camp. The evening even-ing was spent in dancing, with the .soldier chorus furnishing several fine musical numbers .at intermission. intermis-sion. The affair was sponsored by the . committee recently appointed by the city officials to entertain the .boys, while the financial obligations obligat-ions were taken care of by the local chamber of commerce. In addition to the fine response by the young lady dancers of Pleasant Grove and vicinity, about forty Provo girls responded to the 1 call, and graciously aided in the entreatinment of the soldiers. Mrs. George W. Worthen of Provo made the necessary arrangements for the girls and Pleasant Grove pople furished the transportation. 'The committee appreciates the help given by Mrs. Worthen and also the fine girls who came over and helped make the affair a success. In addition to the dancers, the city officials, church officials, and school officials and the committee ' members weie present and added materially in making the event the successt that it was. The committee appreciates the financial assisnce given by the chamber of commerce and also thanks all those who made 'the affair sucessful, including the good folks who donated their cars 'to bring the girls over from Provo and take them "home. |
