The services, conducted by Ris-liop Ris-liop George Kicks, began at 2 o'clock o'-clock and opened with a vocal duet, "I Know My Heavenly Father Knows,'' by Arnold and Xessie Brems, accompanied by Fern Johnson. John-son. Invocation was offered by Charles Turner. Sketch of the life of Mrs. Barnes Bar-nes was read by Mrs. Eldin Barnes, Bar-nes, a daughter in law. Speakers who eulogized the life r.r.d work of Mrs. Barnes, and offered of-fered encouragement to the mourners mourn-ers were Mrs. Mina Webb, Luther Coates, Isaac Fox and Wm. Hat- field. Musical numbers interspersing the speakers included: "The Vacant Vac-ant Chair" by a male quartette, directed by Armnod Webb and accompanied ac-companied by Mavis Sadler. Instrumental numbers "That Wonderful Mother of Mine" by Alva Al-va H. Wing. A vocal solo, "Sister Thou Wast Mild and Lovely" by Fern Johnson accompanied by Mavis Mav-is Sadler and n ""Cal duet. "Cool Night. Good Morning" by Mr. and Mrs. Brems, acccompanied by Fern Johnson. Benediction was pronounced pronoun-ced by Roscoe Grover, a missionary mission-ary companion of Mrs. Barnes' son. Burial took place in the Lehi City Cemetery where at the grave side, Mrs. Ora Chipman and Mrs. Kenneth Robison sang "When The Sun Goes Down," and Eldin Barnes offered the dedicatory prayer.. Violet Barnes was born at Lehi, Sept. 28, 1877, to Joseph H. and Ellen Jones College Barnes. On January 4, 1984, she married Geo. F. Barnes in the Salt Lake Temple and with him made their home in Lower Lehi, where for all her life she was activei n church work, especially es-pecially Relief Society, having served ser-ved in the ward presidency for 16 years. She was the mother of 15 children, child-ren, nine of whom with her husband hus-band survive. Thev are Eldin Barnes Bar-nes of Sandv.. Frank and Harold Fames of Lehi, Mrs. C. R. Carle. Mrs. Arnold Hendrichson and Mrs. Reuben Tomlinson of Pleasant Grove. There are 20 grand children and 12 f?reat p-rand children. |
