Show PIONEER CELEBRATES III Rill DAY TODAY George Shoell, well known farmer far-mer and stock raiser of this community com-munity is celebrating his 83 birthday birth-day anniversary today (Friday.) Mr. Shoell, a pioneer of Pleasant Grove, was born in England on March 5, 1860, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Shoell. He came to this country with his parents in I860, and at the age of eight years,, left home to earn his board and keep, assisting other people. A few years later the family left their home on Locust avenue and moved to Lindon where Mr. Shoell has since resided. In his youth and early manhood, he hauled timber from American Fork canyon' and helped in the construction of railroads. In 1881 he married Naomi Hooper, Hoo-per, and took up farming and stock raising. His wife died in 1908, and in 1912 he married Eliza Stagg, who died March 10, 1935. He is the father of six children, five of whom are living: They are George, Albert, Clarence and Clem Shoell of Pleasant Grove and Mrs. Violet Brown of Provo. Mr. Shoell still rides the range and drives his own car. In 1933 he visited both world's fairs, in New York and San Francisco. Fran-cisco.
