There are only a few more Tuesdays left of our school days. I'm sure we're willing to support our school in selling Bonds and Stamps these few times. Lets dig down into our own pockets. The tenth grade is doing the best, with the 9th coming second. Three candidates are chosen from the high school, and the college determines the winnner on the basis of the schol-ship schol-ship records of chosen students. Consideration is also given on character, personality and special ability. V GIRL'S DAY On April 21, the annual "Girl's Day" will be held. There will be an asembly first period, "The Gay Nineties" It will be bright in color and entertainment. Then there will he a matinee dance for a period and a half. It is to be a sweater dance; both boys and girls are to wear sweaters. A lunch at noon will be served to the Senior high boys and girls. Everyone is anticipating a delightful de-lightful time. V TENNIS The Tennis schedule of the Alpine Al-pine District is already half over. The Vikings lost their first encounter en-counter with Lincoln 3-1. They then won from A. F. 5-0, and last Monday they were defeated de-feated by Lehi 3-1. Billy Ogden, and Grant Anderson, the No. 2 Doubles team, have won on each occasion. V PICTURE SHOW ASSEMBLY A very good assembly was enjoyed en-joyed by the Senior High last Friday. Fri-day. The show was a navy picture and was presented by a petty officer of-ficer from the Provo reer-uiting office. The show consisted of a review j of the navy of the U. S. and its growth and progres since Dec. 7, 1912. ' V PICTURE SHOW Friday, April 14. a picture show was given by Mr.! Fisher, from the Utah Oil Refining Company. Vikings and the Lehi Pioneers will stage a dual track meet April 21 on the Lehi field. Coach Giles has indicated that he expects to have an entry or two in each event. V "G" GETS WHITEWASHED Have you noticed how much brighter the "G" on the mountainside mountain-side is? The Senior boys of the P. G. H. S. are responsible for the good work. They accomplished the job on Wednesday of last week, and believe it or not they didn't get wet. V SCHOLARSHIPS j During the month of March, Principal Banks received letters from the B. Y. U. and the U. S. A. C. These letters were to announce an-nounce free scholarships to those colleges to h'Sh. ranking graduates graduat-es from our school. The B. Y. U. is extending a $25 scholarship to be awarded on the basis of character and potentialities potential-ities of leadership. Application blanks for this scholarship may be obtained at the school office. |
