Show DON PETERSON WINS SECOND PLACE IN SUGAR BEET PRODUCTION Don Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Peterson of this city won second place in the sugar beet production contest for Utah County in 1943, and was given an award of $15.00 cash. The presentation was made on Sunday evening in connection with sacrament meeting in the Second ward,, where County Agent S. R. Boswell, explained (the project and W. J. O'Bryant, manager of the IJtah-Idaho Sugar Company at Spanish Fork made the presentation. present-ation. Don .cultivated 2.67 acres of sugar beets with an average of 3.25 tons to the acre.. The first prize of $25.00. was won by Floyd Klegg of the Pay-son Pay-son district for an average of 23.50 tons per acre, while third prize of J10.r-fe4r '6Kr man of the Provo district. Speakers of . the evening were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Johnson. Special musical numbers were two vocal solos, "God So Loved The World" and ''Resignation" by Reva West, accompanied by Carol Clark. |
