Show Region Orchestra Festival In Lehi April 5 T'n.e Reuion Three Orchestra Festival will be held in Lehi Avjril 5. it is announced by Frank Y. Shaw of The hUh school music department. Invitations have tein sent to lil'ta-n schools in tN.? c'.isrviet to panicjate. and I eirht have accented to date, Mr. Sh.aw said. Includir.s schools from Alpine. Provo. Nebo, Juab and Tintic school districts, the festival will include orchestra numbers from each school; each organization! to play a symphonic and light number, and a march. Dr. Lawrence Law-rence Sardoni of the Brigham Young university will be the judge. The public is invited to attend the festival, which will be held during the afternoon and evening. eve-ning. Further musical events are scheduled as follows: April 19, band festival at Springville; May 1, chorus festival at Payson. At the latter Lehi is entering a mixed chorus of 100 voices, an a capella choir, and a girls chorus. Last of the small groups to perform for the Central Utah Music Festivals appeared in Pleasant Grove Friday evening. Representing the American Fork school were Miss Rae Marie Jerling who played "To Spring" (Greig) on the cello, and Miss Jennie Lee who sang " 'Til I Wake" (Amy Woodford Finder). K. J. Bird head of the music department of the American Fork high school and E. B. Carey, holding the same position in the Lincoln school, with five other delegates from Utah this week are attending the National Music convention in Cleveland, Ohio. The group left Monday by United Air Lines and will return Friday of next week. i |
