Ghri.stian.sen, in honor of their daughter Carol and Bernard Swensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Swensen, who were married earlier in the week. The affair was held in the 3rd ward recreation hall where palms, ferns and lighted candles lent enchantment, en-chantment, to the scene. The bridal. party received friends in front of the stage against a background of ferns flanked with lighted tapers. In the receiving line were the bride and groom, their parents, matron of honor Mrs. Kent Giles; attending mat-ions, mat-ions, the brides sister, Mrs. George Geor-ge Neilson, and the groom's sister, Mrs. Max Ferre and bride's maid Miss Clela Gibson. Lieutenant k'anute Swensen stood as best man for his brother. The bride was charming in a trailing gown of white salin and Marquisette. Her net fingertip veil was held in place with a tiara of seed pearls. She carried a bridal bouquet of red rose buds and sweet peas. Mis. Giles was allired in pink crepe and net; Miss Gibson wore blue Marquisette. Mrs. Neilson wore a gown of flowered crepe and while net while Mrs. Ferre chose pink net and black lace. All wr.re corsages of sweetpeas. The bride's mother wore royal blue and the mother of the groom wore black. Each wore corsages of rose buds and sweet peas. The groom wore evening clothes. Lieut. Swensen was in uniform. Neils Fugal was master of ceremonies cere-monies and conducted the following follow-ing program: original reading, Mrs. N. Y. Fugal. two vocal solos, Mrs. Victor Stokes, accompanied by Mrs. K. Adams. Humorous skit, Mrs. Warnick, Miss Barbara Mullins, and Miss Lyle Beth Atwood; Toast to the Bride and Groom, Miss Estelle 'Fenton; two vocal solos, Loyle Bailey, accompanied by Mrs. Bailey. Bail-ey. Dancing concluded the e- vening's festivities. The georgeous gift display was in charge of Mrs. Blaine Swensen, Mrs. Lee Swensen, Mrs. Boyd Swensen, and Mrs. Loraine Boyer. Gifts were received at the door by Miss Katbryn Gourley and Master Dee Swensen. The serving table was covered with a beautiful lace cloth and held a center piece of white and pink, carnations, flanked by lighted light-ed pink tapers. Here Mrs. Edna Gourley -presided. Young ladies gowned in pastel formals served. They were: Misses Mary Louise Adamson, Mary Neves, Barbara Rasmussen and Eva Pederson. The popular, young couple were married on Wednesday, January lfi. in the Salt Lake L. D. S. Temple with Elder J. Will Knight officiating. Accompanying the young couple and witnessing the cermony were the bride's parents, the groom's mother, the bride's sister Mrs. George Neilson, president presi-dent and Mrs. Merrill IN. Jvarnick, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Swensen, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Oscarson and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Warnick. |
