Show lavar hooley made: major LaVar Hoolcy has recently been made a Major in the U. S. Army. Major Hooley, who has been in the service four years, has spent the past 20 months in the Pacific. He is now stationed in the East Indies. His wife Mary Duke Hooley and small daughter live in the Second ward. He is a son o'f Mr. and Mrs. Royal Hooley. With The Fifth Army Italy Private Pri-vate George W. Hall o'f Pleasant Grove, Utah, has been cited by the 350th "Battle Mountain" Regiment ' of the 88th "Blue Devil" Division and awarded the Combat Infantryman Infantry-man Badge for actual participation in combat against the enemy with the Fifty Army in Italy. With The Fifth Army Italy- A German who apparently was playing play-ing dead was captured by Sergeant Dewey N. Adamson of Pleasant Grove, Utah, on the Fifth Army front in Italy recently. Adamson, a squad leader in Company Com-pany G, 363rd Infantry Regiment of the 91st "Powder River" Division, Divis-ion, was leading his men in an attack at-tack up a hill and he noticed a I German soldier prone in a split-trench. split-trench. Adamson approached and as his shadow fell across the German Ger-man he came to life screaming "Kamerad," his hands up.
