The enrollment of girls in the Junior and Senior classes this year is far short of the number needed to select a good pep club, and as a result Sophomores were permitted to try out. The requirements are greater than last year so as to insure a better looking, more active club-It club-It is thought by admitting Sophomores Soph-omores into the organization all requirements set up can be met and the school still be supported by a good 3 6 member booster squad. Those trying out were judged by Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Murphy an e-x-Lt. Florence Erickson, who selected the following girls as club members. Marilyn King. Our first Lyceum of the year was really super. We are looking forward for a return engagement of the quartet, which consisted of Vernon Dunn. Thomas J. Pru-itt. Pru-itt. Richard Williams and Howard How-ard Hall. . I'm sure all the students enjoyed en-joyed it immensely. This was the first of our five Lyceums we are entitled to thoughout the year. There is entertainment ahead of us if the remaining four are as entertaining as the first. Here's hoping t':ey are. ASSEMBLY PROGRAM A very interesting assembly program was presented. All members mem-bers of the faculty took part on the program.. The assembly was opened with prayer by Mr. Reese. Mrs. Jacobs. Miss Conder, Miss Rowley and Miss Mathews took part in a comical skit. That was their initiation in-itiation as new members of the I faculty. Mr. Banks gave a talk that put us straight on the way things should be done. Mr. Fugal and his sister gave a zylophone duet. Their talents are appreciated by the students. The highlight of the program was a song 'by allmcmbers of the faculty. Mr. Jensen took charge of this. We didn't know our faculty fac-ulty had such talents. Mr. Johnson gave an interesting interest-ing reading, The Cremation of Sam. McGee. Evelyn Smith had smart by giving them a quiz, to see the teachers were really |
