Show Activities of the Jaycee Gems The Jaycee Gems held a very interesting meeting at the 2nd Ward Chapel Wednesday even-ning. even-ning. President Ruth Cobbley was in charge and turned the time over to Mrs. Mary P. Jacobs, whose purple color group ar- ranged the program of music by some of the masters. A vocal solo Jealousy was, sung by Mrs. Jeanne Pierson, accompanied by Mrs. Maurine Hazelbaker; Mrs. Lois West gave a sketch of the life of different differ-ent composers and Richard Big-low, Big-low, talented young violinist from the B. Y. U. played selections selec-tions from each. They were as follows: Bach. Organ Prelude; Rockmoniouv, Prelude in C Sharp, Miner; Jean Sibelieus, Romance, Edward McDowell; Hungarian Fredrick ' Chopin, Polinaise in E Flat and one encore, en-core, Lecuna. The final numbers, My Heart at Thy Sweet Voice and Lover was sung by Mrs.. Pierson, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Hazelbaker. .Refreshments were served to a large crowd of Gemls and guests. On October 3rd at the First Ward Chapel the Jaycee Gems will be hostesses at the Inner-State Inner-State Club program. All members mem-bers are invited and requested to be present. |
