Miss Pleasant Grove rode a float o'f white satin with a large blue G at her back. Bands from American Fork. Lehi. Lincon high. Orem. nnd Pleasant Grove strutted their stuff, w:lh smartly dressed maj"iet'""s crl-ing crl-ing the bunds. One of the main features of the parade was the section of mounted horsemen, numbering about 100; this being one o'f the finest displays of horseflesh ever assemebled in this community, and included the Lehi Ridiing Club and other fine hoi'ses i from Utah county. ' Other festivities included chiid-, chiid-, ren's sports and games in. the city park, horse pulling contests and a t j novely stunt by the Lehi riding club at the rodeo grounds, a Softball I game between Pleasant Grove team II nd the Geneva Steeleres at the I campus and a dance in the high I .school gymnasium to climax the days events. Keith Jen.se, as Uncle Sam, mounted moun-ted on a beautiful white horse, led the two parades. The local post of The American Legion, 'furnished the mounted color guard and escort. The T'lea.uit Grove Chamber of Commerce, Harvey Smith President, take this means of thanking all those who in. any way assisted in making the day so successful. It is impossible to single out all those who helped, but we want to epec-ially epec-ially thank Mr. Jensen and the P. G. High School Band for their appearances ap-pearances in the parades they add much to a parade; also to all those who entered 'floats and helped make 1 the day a success we thank you. " |
