GARDNER, 16, Of Bear River City, Box Elder county, named by Assistant 8tat Boys and Girls Club Leader Fern Shipley a Utah's 1942 4-H food preparation champion It awarded an all-expense trip by Servel home economics eco-nomics department to the 21st National 4-H Club Congress In Chi-cago, Chi-cago, Nov. 29 Dec. 2, where delegates dele-gates will discuss further 4-H contributions con-tributions to the war effort. The honor climaxes a four-year reo-ord reo-ord In club work during which the girl prepared and served 988 meals and 1,327 dishes, and baked bread and muffins for her family of four. . . ..The local 4-H club, of which Bonnie is now vice president, won first place In the county and ttat for three years In succession. With $40 earned in working for her sister, the girl made church donation, bought glasses, and War Savings Stamps, and had dental work done. This is the eighth year of the contest, con-test, which is conducted In cooperation coopera-tion with the Extension Service, |
