Show Jaycees Receive National And i State Charters The Pleasant Grove Junior Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce, with a membership member-ship of fifty was welcomed into the state and national organization Saturday evening, when represenat-ives represenat-ives from a number of Utah clubs, assembled at the high school building build-ing for the charter night banquet and program. Grant Thorne, newly elected national vice president presented pre-sented the charters, which were received by local President Lawrence Law-rence Farr. The presentation of the President's Pin was made by Frank Fister, of Provo, newly elected state president. The guest speaker of the evening was Mayor Earl J- Glade of Salt Lake City, who praised the work being done in Utah by the Jaycees. and urged the Pleasant Grove Club to follow the examples set by the other JCC clubs of Utah, and also follow the advice of" Grant Thorne. a real leader of the Jaycees. Gerald Belliston was master of ceremonies and introduced the following fol-lowing program numb-rs: Short remarks re-marks by National director Guy C. Cardon of Logan; Jay Brockbank of Salt Lake City, Immediate past national vice president; state vice presidents, Kay Johnson, Spring-ville; Spring-ville; Rell Argyle, Panquitch; Kleon Kerr, .Trenionton. Greetings to the new club were given by S. Duane Harper, Mayor of Pleasant Grove, and Harvey Smith, president of the Pleasant Grove chamber of commerce.
