Show Vikings Clinch Birth In State Tournament With the game really counting, the Pleasant Grove Vikings jumped jump-ed back into the win column with a two point victory over Lincoln that clinched second place for the P. G. crew, and assured them of a spot in the State High School Class B tournament. The Lincoln boys were going all out to win the game and give themselves a chance for a tie at the second place spot, but P. G., led' by Doyle Harris with 11 points j pulled away to the victory. The Vikings pulled away to an early lead in the first quarter, but bogged bog-ged down in the second and let the Lincoln team leave the floor at the half with a 16-11 lead. After the half though they came back strong to win the game. The final encounter of the season seas-on for the Vikings will be tonight on the Vikings floor when they play host to the first place Cavemen Cave-men from A. F. With both teams assured of a spot in the High school classic, there should still be plenty of fireworks as the teams battle it out for prestige. The results res-ults of -the game will not affect the league standings in any way, but P. G. would sure like to go into in-to the tournament with a win over unbeaten American Fork. |
